Yarra ships
Four ships of the Royal Australian Navy have been named HMAS Yarra, for the Yarra River in Victoria.
- The first HMAS Yarra (D79) was a River class torpedo boat destroyer launched in 1910 and serving until 1929.
- The second HMAS Yarra (U77) was a Grimsby class sloop launched in 1935 and sunk by a group of Japanese cruisers 300 miles (480 km) south of Java on 4 March 1942.
- The third HMAS Yarra (DE 45) was a River class destroyer escort launched in 1958 and serving until 1985.
- The fourth HMAS Yarra (M 87) is a Huon class minehunter launched in 2002 and in active service as of 2008.
